Jute, knotted entirely by hand in south-west Bangladesh using traditional macramé. The signature is the word bag — a tote with a single word worked into it in contrasting fibre. Founded in Notting Hill in 1998 by Louise Jackson; the Bangladesh collaboration began in 2012 and now gives around 1,500 artisans year-round work, with several thousand more employed in jute cord, beadwork and embroidery. The women are paid directly — that is the point of it. Both shops since 2018, and nowhere else on the islands.
