Blink is a small concept store with two physical shops in Ibiza and Formentera, and a collection you can browse online at blinkformentera.com. We try to keep things simple — including how we handle your data. This page explains what we collect when you browse the site, what happens if you get in touch about a piece, and your rights under European law.

Who runs this site

This website (blinkformentera.com) is operated by Blink Ibiza & Formentera, an independent concept store based in the Balearic Islands, Spain. Our two locations are:

What data is processed when you visit

When you load any page on this site, your browser sends standard request data (your IP address, user-agent string, referring URL, the page you requested). This is technically necessary to deliver the page and to protect against abuse. The site itself stores none of this — it's a static website with no database, no user accounts, and no analytics tracking.

A few third-party services receive some of this data automatically when you load the site. They are listed below. Nothing else is contacted unless you choose to message us.

Third parties involved in delivering the site

Cloudflare — Hosts and serves the website (CDN). Receives your IP address, user-agent, and the URL you requested for every page load. Cloudflare uses this data to deliver content quickly, mitigate attacks, and produce aggregated traffic statistics. It retains server-side request logs for a short period (typically a few days). Cloudflare's privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Google Fonts — The site loads its typefaces (Cormorant Garamond and Outfit) from Google's font CDN at fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Your browser fetches these files directly from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address as part of the request. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

WhatsApp (Meta) — The “Ask about this piece” buttons and the WhatsApp contact links are ordinary outbound links to wa.me. No WhatsApp or Meta script runs on this site, so nothing is sent to Meta while you are simply browsing. If you choose to click one and send a message, WhatsApp Ireland Limited processes your phone number, your WhatsApp profile name, and the metadata of the conversation (timestamps, delivery status). Message content is end-to-end encrypted between your device and ours. WhatsApp’s privacy policy: whatsapp.com/legal/privacy-policy-eea.

When you enquire about an item

There is no checkout on this site and no card payments are taken here. If you are interested in a piece you contact us on WhatsApp, and everything after that happens in conversation with us directly.

What we receive — your phone number and WhatsApp profile name, plus whatever you choose to tell us in the conversation. If the enquiry becomes an order, that will normally include your full name and a delivery address.
Payment — by Bizum or SEPA bank transfer only. We never see, collect, or store card details, because no card is ever used. For a bank transfer we see your name and the IBAN the payment came from; for Bizum we see the name and phone number registered to your account. The transfer itself is handled by your bank and ours under their own privacy policies.
Shipping — your delivery address is shared with whichever carrier handles your parcel (Correos, SEUR, DHL, UPS, or similar) so they can deliver it. Each carrier processes this data under their own privacy policy.
Accounting & tax — we retain invoices and order records as required by Spanish law (typically 4–6 years for tax purposes, up to 10 years for accounting purposes).
The conversation itself stays in WhatsApp on our devices and yours. You can delete your side at any time; ask us and we will delete ours.

The legal basis for this processing is your request and the performance of any resulting sales contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)), and our legal obligations regarding taxation and accounting (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)).

The Journal

The Journal section of this site mirrors selected posts from our Instagram account (@blinkformentera). The images and captions are downloaded by us, in advance, via Instagram's official Graph API, and re-served from our own domain. This means that when you read the Journal, your browser does not connect to Instagram — Instagram does not see your visit and does not set cookies on you. Only if you click through to one of our Instagram links do you leave this site and become subject to Instagram's own privacy practices.

What we do not do

No analytics tracking — no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Cloudflare Web Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no anything.
No advertising and no ad tracking pixels.
No newsletter signups, no contact form, and no checkout — there are no fields anywhere on this site to enter personal data into.
No user accounts, no logins, no comments.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data with anyone. The only parties that receive your data are the operational service providers listed above (hosting, fonts, messaging, shipping), and only to the extent strictly necessary to deliver the site and your order.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies at all. There is no cart to remember, no account to keep you signed in to, and no analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies of any kind. Nothing is stored on your device by this website, so there is nothing to consent to and nothing to opt out of.

Outbound links

This site links out to third-party platforms — most notably Instagram (for our profile and individual posts) and WhatsApp (for the floating chat button and the store contact buttons), as well as standard tel: phone links. Once you click an outbound link and leave this site, you are subject to the destination's own privacy policies, terms of service, and cookie behaviour. We have no control over those platforms or their data practices.

Your rights under EU GDPR & Spanish LSSI-CE

If you are in the European Union or the European Economic Area, the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) gives you the following rights regarding personal data we hold about you:

Access — request a copy of personal data we hold about you.
Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Erasure ("right to be forgotten") — request deletion of your data, subject to our legal retention obligations for invoices and tax records.
Restriction — limit how we process your data.
Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
Objection — object to specific processing.
Withdraw consent — where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.
Lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, AEPD): aepd.es.

To exercise any of these rights regarding data we control, write to blinkformentera@gmail.com. For data held directly by the third-party services listed above (Cloudflare, Google, WhatsApp/Meta, shipping carriers), you may also contact them directly through their published channels.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly process personal data of children. If you are a parent or guardian and have a concern, please contact us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in how the site works, in the services it uses, or in applicable law. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We recommend checking back occasionally if you care.
